CEDARVILLE — Greenon's defense remained stingy in a 42-0 win against Cedarville on Friday. The Knights (2-0) still haven't allowed a point after two games.

Lance Steiner powered Greenon's offense, breaking out for 177 yards on 21 carries, while their defense forced Cedarville to punt the ball eight times in 10 drives.

Cedarville's leading rusher, Ty Ashbaugh picked up only 18 yards in the game on 16 carries.

The Knight defense played tough all night, combining for nine stops at or behind the line of scrimmage, while simultaneously denying Cedarville quarterback Grayson Cato on all four of his pass attempts, forcing him to take to the ground.

Cato joined Ashbaugh as the only other ball carrier for the Indians, picking up 31 yards on the night. The defense unlocked the game for the Knights, Greenon head coach Tim Hale said.

"We felt great about how we were playing defensively," he said. "(Our defense) can fight tooth and nail."

Greenon's Steiner finished the evening with three touchdowns, two on the ground and one in the air, receiving the only pass of the night for 65 yards. Travis Richardson scored twice, rushing for 97 total yards, and Logan Dean rounded out the scoring summary with a 38-yard touchdown run.

Despite playing well on both sides of the ball, Greenon was knocked for eight penalties, totaling 75 yards, while Cedarville only picked up one. Greenon forced one fumble and had one interception, allowing just one first down and 58 total yards for Cedarville (0-2).
