Williams named Horizon League player of year

Wright State's Jherica Williams was named the Horizon League's softball player of the year after hitting .472 with 17 home runs and 71 RBIs. She had a .950 slugging percentage and .562 on-base percentage.

Sophomores Kristen Bradshaw, a shortstop, and outfielder Jamie Perkins also were named first-team All-HL, while sophomore pitcher Sharon Palma and freshman second baseman Justine Shilt were both second team and on the newcomer team. Freshman third baseman Louie Haney was also named to the newcomer team.

The Raiders opened play in the Horizon League tournament Thursday night, May 8, as the No. 3 seed, defeating Loyola 4-3.
