Witt women wrap up No. 3 seed in NCAC

SPRINGFIELD — Senior Katie Gregorevich had 17 points and 10 rebounds to help the Wittenberg women's basketball team defeat Oberlin 68-52 Saturday, Feb. 23, at Pam Evans Smith Arena.

The victory gives the Tigers the No. 3 seed in this week's North Coast Athletic Conference tournament. Wittenberg will host No. 6 seed Oberlin at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, in the NCAC quarterfinals.

Stephanie Boardman scored 16 points for Wittenberg (13-10, 12-4 NCAC), and Carrie Dyer chipped in 15 points.

Rio Grande 61

RIO GRANDE — Rachel Hurley's 3-pointer with 34 seconds left won the game for the Yellow Jackets (14-13, 7-7 American Mideast Conference). Hurley led all scorers with 15 points and made 4-of-5 3-pointers.

Aubrey Siemon turned in a double-double for Cedarville with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

PORTSMOUTH — Enisia Curry scored 12 points, Jessica Byrd added 11 points and Tecumseh grad Sarah Branham pulled down 10 rebounds as the Blue Knights (16-10, 7-7 AMC) fell to the NAIA D-II No. 8 Bears (26-2, 13-1 AMC).

RIO GRANDE — The NAIA No. 21 Yellow Jackets (20-7, 10-4 AMC) clinched their seventh straight 20-win season. Grant Walker scored 14 points for Cedarville, and Daniel Rose had nine rebounds.

PORTSMOUTH — Andre' Wiggins tossed in 13 points as the Blue Knights fell to the Bears (5-23, 3-11 AMC) in AMC South action.
