Tremont City, Ohio — Police Chief Robert Repik tendered his resignation in a surprise move at a village council meeting Monday night, May 12.
Repik gave his 30-day notice to take another job, said Councilman Tony Flood.

"It was surprising, but the village would never stand in somebody's way to further their career," he said.
Repik was appointed police chief last fall after the village council removed James O'Neill from that position in early November.
"It's hard for small villages to find a qualified person like Repik, we wish him all the best of luck," Flood said.
