Location & description:
Located near Springfield, Buck Creek is centered around a 2,120 acre lake and surrounded by wetlands, woodlands and meadows. The park is home to many species of birds and the spotted turtle, a state-endangered animal.
Cottages:
- 26 family cottages situated in a wooded area
- Cottages have two bedrooms, bath with a shower, living room with a trundle bed, complete kitchen, dining area and screened porch, gas log fireplaces, and air conditioning
- One cottage is fully accessible
Camping:
- Campground has 111 campsites of which 89 have electricity.
- Facilities include showers, flush toilets and dump station
- Campers with pets may camp on designated sites
- Boat camping is permitted in designated areas
Boating:
- Unlimited horsepower boating opportunities on the 2,120 acre lake
- Four lane boat launch ramp
- Snack bar
- Fuel & bait available for purchase at the marina
- Seasonal dock rental
Fishing & hunting:
- Fishermen enjoy fine catches of walleye, bass and pan fish
- A fishing pier is open to the public and is wheelchair accessible
- Hunting is permitted in designated areas
- A valid Ohio hunting and/or fishing license is required
Swimming:
- 2,400 foot sand beach
- Concession stand
Picnic areas:
- Picnic areas available with tables and grills
- Two shelters available on first-come, first-serve basis
Trails:
- Over 7.5 miles of hiking trails offers nature study, bird watching and other wildlife observation
- A scenic 7.5-mile bridle trail is also open to snowmobiling, weather permitting
