Workers say the woman spent nearly every night at the restaurant, so they weren’t surprised when she came in Friday night.

However, they were shocked when it turned out she had died.

Even more shocking, restaurant patrons downed their Big Macs and fries without having a clue they were eating next to a lifeless body. Workers say the woman almost never ordered food, so they weren't surprised when she asked only for water and then seemed to be sleeping.

South China Morning Post reports the McDonald's restaurant in Hong Kong was accustomed to the woman spending extended periods of time at the chain location. She was known as a street-sleep, hence, which the reason no one tried to wake or move her. "In order to provide a pleasant dining environment, we would not disturb our customers," a release began. "But our service will be offered promptly upon request."

South China Morning Post reported that business continued and customers navigated around the cornered off area where the woman was sitting while police investigated.

At some point, the restaurant closed for a few hours to clean and disinfect after the body was taken to a mortuary for burial preparation.

That particular location is open 24 hours a day, and McDonald's says that won’t change. “We welcome everyone to visit our restaurants any time.”
