Work, save,
invest and give

Work, save, invest and freely give to others. It is these very actions that create improved living conditions for our neighbors and ourselves. We desperately need leadership that gives us incentives and inspiration to do these things, but we hear almost nothing of the sort.

Please consider the year 2007 for example. During that entire year, I don’t recall any major political leader who inspired us or challenged us to work, save, invest or freely give to others. Is it any wonder that, four years later, our economy is anything but the robust productive engine that we need?

Very generous, supportive

The Coalition of Independent Citizens would like to thank the Springfield community for their generous support for our annual “Pack It In” project.

The project is a means to get extra items, not available to our troops, collected and sent to Afghanistan and Iraq. The coalition distributes packing boxes, donated by U-Haul, throughout the community for donations. The boxes are collected by coalition volunteers and taken to space donated by Jim Lagos in the Bushnell Building. The coalition has a “Pack It In” party and the items are (sent) to soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq. The businesses in the community donate postage to send the priority boxes.

This year we sent 124 boxes to our troops. This project would not be possible (without) the outpouring of support from the entire community. Springfield is a very generous and supportive community.
