Baker has the right knowledge

We have known Rob Baker for more than 10 years. During that time, we have come to appreciate his commitment and dedication to the people of this community, especially through his work as a board member and as president of the board of the Rocking Horse Center. He has given countless hours to see that our underinsured citizens receive great medical care.

As a professor at Wittenberg University and a former city manager in Missouri, Rob Baker has the knowledge and experience necessary to be an effective city commissioner.

He understands the complexity of issues that Springfield faces and has the values needed to help establish priorities for use of Springfield’s budget.

Rob Baker is a man of integrity, honesty and commitment to the good of Springfield. These are some of the reasons we support Rob Baker for City Commission.

Baker qualified for commission

Rob Baker is an excellent candidate for Springfield City Commission. For 20 years, I have found Rob to be one of the most sincere, thoughtful and intelligent individuals I know.

He has a cool, reassuring demeanor that enhances his ability to work through difficult situations. His leadership style has been well tested, as Rob has been a part of the Rocking Horse Center since its inception and recently led the center through difficult times. Rob has been either working in city government or teaching about local government for more than 20 years.

In Rob’s case, his dedication to the improvement of Springfield is proven by his work. It is not often that people who are truly qualified to run for city commission are willing to do so.

Duncan is capable, concerned leader

Karen Duncan chose to make Springfield her home and has lived here for more than 44 years. She is a concerned, capable citizen who has already proven her leadership skills in a neighborhood association, on the Mental Health Board of Clark County, in neighborhood beautification and on the Springfield City Commission, where she has served nearly four years.

Currently assistant mayor, Karen promotes economic development, job creation, neighborhood building, and supports our public service departments.

She has knowledge, experience, listening skills, and concern for her entire constituency.

Duncan finds best
 solutions for all

Springfield voters have an excellent city commissioner in Karen Duncan.

I know her to be someone who cares deeply for all of the citizens of Springfield and she truly has their best interests at heart. When difficult decisions need to be made, Karen looks at problems from all angles and finds the best solution for everyone.

I see in her a strength of character and a commitment to her job that is rare these days. The people of Springfield can trust her to work hard on their behalf.

Karen Duncan has been a very capable and strong city commissioner and she deserves everyone’s continued support.

Duncan accessible and responsive

I am writing in support of Karen Duncan, a candidate for the Springfield City Commission.

In her three years as commissioner, Karen has shown an untiring commitment to the welfare and progress of Springfield. She understands the difficult problems involved in keeping our city alive and thriving. In addition, she has been accessible to individuals and responsive to their concerns.

Her knowledge and experience will be important contributions to the continued advancement of Springfield.

Duncan involved
 in the community

Re-elect Karen Duncan. As city commissioner, she will continue to use her experience and good judgment to benefit all citizens of Springfield.

Karen has long been active in the neighborhoods of Springfield. She continues to be involved in the community while serving on the city commission.

As a city commissioner and as a candidate, her goals are those which will only make the city stronger.

Duncan fathoms complex issues

Please vote for Karen Duncan for city commissioner. I have known Karen for many years and she is the type of person who is for the people and their causes. She is for a better Springfield. She wants Springfield to become a destination for business, recreation, and vacation.

She does not always vote with the majority (i.e. Mid-Ohio development at Villa and Middle Urbana roads).

She supports local volunteer organizations that improve recreational access into Springfield (park revitalization, multiuse trails, whitewater initiative) and the revenue that comes with such activities.

She understands Springfield’s assets of the arts, recreation, low cost of living and location on major road and air arteries.

Her greatest strength is her integrity and the ability to understand complex issues affecting our community. Please reelect Karen to city commission.

Chilton concerned with the entire city

Joyce Chilton should be elected to the City Commission because she is concerned about the entire city. I live on the southwest side of Springfield. I was cooking one day when Joyce Chilton knocked at my door, gave me some literature about herself and asked me for my vote.
