The federal government knew how much money they had to spend, yet they spent way beyond what they knew they had. (Barack) Obama is up to his same scheme: Demonize the rich for his lack of fiscal responsibility. We are all on budgets and we are expected to live within our means, except for the federal government. Now he blames Congress for lack of leadership. Does this guy take responsibility for anything? Where is leadership?
Re Springfield police staffing: Good article. However, the three additional officers Springfield has now cover one officer who has been off injured for over two years and the two who were added by a contract with Clark State to patrol the college full time.
Re Buying and shopping Springfield: Definitely. That is why I use Ohio Valley Medical Center and Crystal Clear Imaging. My money stays local and does not get sent to Cincinnati or Columbus.
I’d definitely like to have rich people and large corporations pay more taxes. I think it’s just stupid to put all the burden of lowering the deficit on the poor and middle class.
It is very sad that Clark County is home to two juveniles who used the American flag on Memorial Day weekend to start a car on fire. A flag-protection amendment failed approximately 10 years ago, mainly because of Democratic Party opposition. Thanks, Democrats, for nothing.
Quit blaming the economy for robberies and theft. Ninety-nine times out of 100, theft is feeding a drug addiction. The average drug addict spends upward of $50,000 a year on drugs and Springfield is overrun with crackheads, pill poppers and heroin users. We need a combination of better policing and rehabilitation.
Beer at the fair? Unbelievable!
It is painfully obvious that my countrymen have been overly generous to aliens in the matter of citizenship and we will live to regret the destruction of the USA.
I am a small business owner. What keeps me from expansion and hiring more? High taxes, more government regulations, unionization and a promise of higher energy prices. These are Democrat policies, not Republican.
