Speak Ups for July 6 - Is Springfield so broke it can only afford to half-fill potholes?

When I read the comment in an earlier Speak Up, I thought someone was just being dramatic. Having now used it, I couldn’t agree more. West North Street IS a merry-go-round! And ridiculous as well.

Is Springfield so broke it can only afford to half-fill potholes? I live on Irwin Avenue and they did an awful job on my street.

Quit complaining about what your employer is not “giving” you — dental, health or eye insurance. No employer “gives” you anything. You work for it. If you want more, work harder. And for goodness sakes, start brushing, stop smoking and cut back on the doughnuts. That will help a lot!

The best way to express patriotism is to buy American-made products. Support companies that stay in the U.S. Boycott companies that move overseas. Insist on American-made products and increase the demand.
