Speak Up: Northeastern school levy, malpractice suits and 'Tea Parties'

Hot Topics

Updated 8:07 AM Wednesday, August 19, 2009

I received my Northeastern school district newsletter. It doesn’t mention what type of levy or the cost to the taxpayers for new buildings. Why can’t Northeastern be up front and publish this information?

Malpractice lawsuits should be judged on an individual basis. These physicians worry more about their malpractice (insurance) and how much they are going to have to pay and if they can cap and whatever else. Why don’t they step aside or retire, and let the profession be handled by people who care more about taking care about somebody’s health, instead of worrying about being sued.

This state-sponsored euthanasia and Obama death panel nonsense that the crazies are perpetuating needs to stop. That part of the health care bill is actually the opposite. It’s an offer to assist seniors in making a living will, so their wishes will be carried out. Read it!

We can support CMHP’s mission to the poor and underserved by patronizing Community-Mercy Hospital and Imaging Center, or we can enrich physician-investors by patronizing OVMC.

In the last decade, the wealthy evaded $250 billion in taxes by using offshore accounts. They also got a Bush tax cut. They are the puppeteers behind this manufactured Tea Party outrage. They are using you to divert attention from themselves and have dumped the tax burden on you.

To the person who ran over my mailbox on Ballentine Pike Aug. 11. Thanks to an attentive neighbor, I have your license plate information. I am willing to give you a chance to do what is right and notify me to make good on the damage you caused. If I do not hear from you by Sunday, I will be filing a criminal damage/hit and run report with the Clark County Sheriff’s Department. The clock is ticking.

The Tea Party members, the “Birthers” and other right wing crazies are evidence that we are still a nation plagued by racism and paranoia. Paranoid fear trumps intelligence, logic and reason any day of the week.

Come on people stop thinking about your yourself, and think about the kids for one time . I don't think any of you will have to sacrifice your big houses or bentley's .

Funding schools through property taxes is unconstitutional in Ohio... yes that's right they declared it unconstitutional but keep collecting because no one has come up with a better idea.

Here's a solution... vote down every tax levy until the politicians get the message.

Will it hurt folks... unfortunately yes... but no one seems to care how illegally stealing money from me hurts.

Send a message... NO on all property taxes!!!!

Regarding NELS - you can simply go to their website. They are hiding NOTHING!

Approx. $1.80 a day for a $200,000 home the absolute cost "is our best estimate with the cost figures that we have today and current interest rates. If the cost of materials increases significantly within the next year or interest rates rise, the costs could increase. Of course the reverse is also true. If construction costs decrease or interest rates decrease cost could go down."

Don't speak to me about the compassion of CHP... They are closing their pediatrics and have cut $450K in funding to the Rocking Horse. Mission to the poor... Hah! Community Hospital made money in 2004. All resources were kept local. Managment were members of the Springfield community, not commuters. Are you aware that CHP sends $17 Million per year to Cincinnati? Now they are blaming the OVMC for their poor managment and foresight. You wouldn't listen... Now you see the truth.
