Speak Up for Sept. 3 - Three things you don’t discuss: religion, politics and sex.

President Obama is going to give a speech on the success of Iraq. How dare he take credit for the success when Sen. Obama and Sen. Biden voted against the surge that made it a success under the leadership of President Bush. More important, why isn’t he giving us a speech on how he is going to get people jobs and fix our economy? Face reality, Mr. President, more people care about what you are going to do to fix the economy than giving us a big speech on Iraq. I suspect the only reason you are giving the speech on Iraq is because it is the only thing that has been successful under your watch, and it was the vision of another president.

Republicans have consistently voted against every effort to improve the economy under President Obama because Republicans would prefer that millions of Americans remain out of work rather than have Democrats benefit politically from an economic recovery.
