Capitalism, Marxism, communism, fascism. I have learned much about each by listening or watching Glenn Beck. Wise up, America, before it is too late and our leaders cram a new “ism” down our throat.
In Possum Woods there are three enterprising young boys with a leaf blower and they are good. Oh yes, their father was supervising their maiden flight. There were politely excited when I told them that they did a sterling job. Thanks, guys.
What is up with the streets of Springfield? It seems like the only somewhat smooth streets are on the north end of town. I can’t afford to get my car maintained or replace tires, as the roads in town have worn them down.
Please do something about the cats around Scott Street and Linden Avenue.
What happened to, “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say it at all”? If I pay you a compliment, I am trying to make your day brighter. If I flatter you, I hope it makes you feel better.
I object loudly to my tax dollars being spent to take men back to court because they are not paying their full obligation of insurance for their children. Do they realize if they have a job and are paying money, that is a plus? Give the guys a break.
To you people who stop at the end of exit ramps that enter a highway: Did you know this is more dangerous than merging into traffic? It is harder to blend in with traffic that is moving 55 to 65 mph from a dead stop than it is moving.

It was an excellent month-long campaign against breast cancer in October. Even a pink newspaper! How about next year for the month of September, let us discuss prostate cancer. Because it is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.
It’s an embarrassment to the Springfield area that after repaving South Burnett Road we’re left with the same railroad tracks there. Who is the genius who overlooked that?
Pilots who overshot their destination by 150 miles: I would like to have that distance coverted to time.
Please keep Speak Up in the newspaper. It was not in on Oct. 30-31.
Has everyone been through the new intersection at Ohio 334 and Derr Road? What were they thinking?
I must applaud the administration at Springfield High. My grandson went to his homecoming and didn’t dance. He said there were strict rules on how they could dance. These kids need to learn how to dance like we did in the 50s.
What happened to the Ten Commandments that were on display downtown?
Bonnie Snow’s inspirational poems in the paper will be greatly missed. They were always like bright sunshine coming out after a rain. Thank you, Bonnie, for all you have given to the Springfield area.
Election: I saw some people running unopposed. The law should be changed so that people running unopposed need to get 51 percent of the vote to be elected.
