An adult JVS program is essential for a community like Springfield, where 39 percent of graduates go to college. Why did the program get eliminated?

I am tired of the court system that deals out extensive jail sentences and retracts them in the same breath. No wonder the same criminals appear in court.

Buy local? Here in Urbana, I have had a new roof, windows and fence with local contractors. I have had problems with all, and the Better Business Bureau did not help.

To the person who said it was just a little change from my pocket for the Northeastern levy: Raising my taxes from $3,000 to $4,000 per year is not a little change in my pocket.

The only help the fragile economy needs is the support and passage of the FairTax. We would have more jobs than you know what to do with.

Veterans Day is also not about men going out and drinking and driving.

Re fragile economy may need help to stimulate jobs: What in the world was the stimulus package for?

I wish Time Warner would put old episodes of “The Time Tunnel” back on TV.

Congrats to News-Sun sports department. You finally gave a few lines to Tecumseh High School.

Why do we need so many school districts in Clark County?

I’m a restaurant server. If you don’t tip us, we only make $3.50 per hour.

Thank you to all the veterans.

Why do we need food banks when we have aid to dependent children, welfare, Head Start, food stamps, free school lunch, Salvation Army and Meals on Wheels? Why is there an unmet need?

Re Northeastern School Board: Have they ever considered what the absence of the South Vienna school would do to the village? It would devastate the area. They don’t have a clue or plan.

Why do you want me to fund a project that in turn would lower my property value and turn South Vienna into a ghost town? I have supported every school levy since I moved here 20 years ago. I can’t support this one.

For those who didn’t want to pass the levy, please pass it this time. It is less than a $1 per day. This is for our kids.

To those people who don’t think Northeastern needs the school levy passed, have you been in Northridge Elementary and/or South Vienna Elementary? Not only do these buildings need to be replaced, but they are very overcrowded. So how can you say to combine any of them? The same goes for the two high schools.

Remember, the value of gold is not going up. The value of the dollar is plummeting. Stop printing money.

Leaders use we, our and us; those desperate for attention use I, me and mine.

It is no surprise unemployment is so high. Our economy was like a runaway truck heading for a cliff when the new administration took over. The good news is that we didn’t go over the cliff and economic indicators show the truck is turning around. Those who say there is failure are just hoping for it.

Why is the News-Sun printing “Dear Abby” topics on husbands who have “penal implants with insatiable sex drives.” Don’t we want a better society than one that fixates on these kind of topics? And does it really need to be printed next to the word jumbles my kids are doing?

What ever happened to country music? They sure have degraded it.

The Country Music Awards had to be one of the worst. There was nothing country about it.

Elections are over. Now please go pick up your signs!
