Thank you, Sheriff Gene Kelly, for cleaning off the sidewalks during the snowstorms in the neighborhood.

Why couldn’t the wind turbine be put on the old landfill in Tremont City? It can’t be used for anything else.

Why don’t they put your picture on a credit card like they do on a driver’s license?

When are they going to get the paper on track again? I got big red blotches all over my paper. Change the Life section back. Why won’t you listen to us?

We have serious pet overpopulation. I sympathize with trying to save the animals, but it is the wrong thing to do.

I always felt sorry for the swimmers in Springfield, for taking the back seat for coverage in the News-Sun. Now they can share it with the bowlers.

Utilities and credit card companies have shortened the time from billing to due date. They will love the five days or less delivery system.

I am highly insulted by the fact that people don’t want to help others in the community.

The boom box has started on Sunset Avenue. They are disturbing the entire neighborhood. Do something about it.

Renters not paying into tax pool: Landlords collect enough to cover it.

Big thank yous to mail carriers? Is it not their job to deliver mail? Guess we should put big thank yous to emergency personnel, nurses, doctors, truck drivers, garbage trucks sales clerks ... shall I go on?

To the man in Kroger recently: Thank you for your kindness and generosity to my children. You gave them gold dollar coins for their piggy banks. May God bless you.

The snow has been melted for a while now. Can the people of Springfield please pick up the trash around their houses and businesses? Take pride in your city.

Please scoop up after your dogs!

I don’t even own a dog and I can’t get my mail delivered correctly.

Many Springfield retirees have good pensions. These were only achieved with the union. The money also keeps us off the government welfare.

Drive-through mailboxes at the Springfield Post Office downtown are wonderful, but not compact-car friendly. They need to be one foot shorter.
