How can anyone call that a speed trap? How is it entrapment? The police sit out in plain sight; they don’t entice anyone to speed through. Does not take much smarts to figure out that if you speed, you get a ticket.

Speed trap in North Hampton: South Charleston is just like it. Beware.

I totally agree with the officers 100 percent on what they do in North Hampton. Is it really that hard to do the speed limit? I have been driving through two to four times a day for the last 35 years. I have never been pulled over. Just like that officer said: If you don’t want to do the speed limit, don’t drive through here.

Who needs red light cameras when you have the North Hampton patrol? Maybe we could hire them in their off time to help our city. They gotta be cheaper than the cameras.

Honda workers from Springfield area driving through Mechanicsburg: If you have to drive that fast, maybe you should get up a little earlier.

Robert Schultz: Bravo! The best commentary I have ever read.

Hats off to Sen. Jim Bunning (Ky.) who had the guts to say “no” to jobless benefits until Congress had the money to pay for it. This is how we got into the $13 trillion mess in the first place. We need more representatives like him. Our spending is unsustainable.

Unemployment compensation was meant for people between jobs, not people out of work. We need a new plan.

Someone asked why President Obama didn’t have a jobs summit instead of one on health care. He did. On Dec. 3, 2009 he invited 130 of the nation’s leading CEOs, small-businessmen, economists and labor leaders to discuss job creation. And, in case you missed this too, the Senate passed a jobs bill in February.

President Obama has already had a jobs summit a few months ago. The one thing our president is good at is having summits even if they do absolutely no good.

How many people are still jobless? My husband has been out of work since December 2008. To change his life, he had to go back to school.

The Trostel name has been synonymous with New Carlisle forever. It is sad to see the furniture store close. At least the name lives on at the funeral home.
