Speak Up for June 27 - I can’t believe our libraries will be closed on Fridays.

I understand the library closing one day a week to cut costs. However, I question it closing on Fridays. Closing on Mondays would give the majority of the library employees a two-day weekend and save the same amount of money.

I can’t believe our libraries will be closed on Fridays. This is terrible for our community.

Why does Springfield High play football at Evans Stadium, instead of the football field right next to a brand new school that we should want to show off to other communities? All other sports are played at the new school. Every home football game comes with the expense of an away game, with the busing of the team, cheerleaders and band.

I don’t want to hear any of you complain. We conservatives tried warning you over and over. But for some reason, you thought we were racist. That has nothing to do with it. The sad part is, this is only the beginning of the downfall of this once great nation. All we can do now is pray that God takes mercy on us.

Sarah Palin, stop pimping your children for political gain and then crying foul. You show bad taste and judgment when you put your children on display to promote a political agenda. Unfortunately, it makes them fair game.

I have been watching David Letterman for 25 years. He did not make the joke about 14-year-old Willow. Sarah Palin just wants another 15 minutes of fame.

I made a difficult decision to abort my first pregnancy. Now, I have a beautiful little girl who is well taken care of. Had I chosen to go through with the first pregnancy, I would be living on welfare. Which is the lesser of the two evils?

President Obama has turned down giving the auto industry more money. We already have so much invested in them now. Why not finish it out? It is the future of our country.

Why aren’t you printing anything about the new early release of inmates bill?

Springfield does have doctors who make house calls. It is called visiting physicians. You can get the number from the hospital.

I just played golf at historic Snyder Park Golf Course. It is the best conditioned golf course in Clark County, public or private.

There are exceptions to every rule. Sparky in South Charleston is one of them. He is a good dog, loved and cared for by all.

We have enough problems with our kids today. We need our libraries. Cut the losers that sit at the computer portals for hrs doing only god knows what. My 3 kids love to go to the library and have free reign on books. Due to the lovely government and prices of everything going up except our pay checks, we have to pay higher bills instead of frequenting a book store. I sure as heck don't want them online looking for their information. I have straight A students with thanks to our libraries.

David Lettermen USED to be funny; I even went to NY just to go to his show long ago. Now I can barely stomach his show. Entertainers need to stop being political shills and just entertain.
