Speak Up for July 1-Why doesn’t someone start contributions to the library?

It’s almost a crime to ask library staff to work a few less days during this financial crisis, but we can raise the sales tax on residents and we don’t even blink an eye.

Why doesn’t someone start contributions to the library?

On closing the library on Fridays: They should close on Sundays and close earlier during the week.

Libraries matter to everyone. It is one of the few things in society that everyone can use. Speak up and save the library.

Complain to our officials immediately about our library cuts.

Libraries are important to draw communities together and keep youth out of trouble.

I hope they don’t close any of the libraries, especially the branches.

I can appreciate people uniting for funds for our library, but I think, more important, we ought to be worrying about feeding the young and elderly and homeless.

Everyone in Clark County needs to contact Gov. Strickland, Sen. Chris Widener, Rep. Ross McGregor and Rep. Robert Hackett and ask them not to cut library funding in Ohio.

Re the baby who died whose mother was in jail: We need more people like Judge Denise Moody. We should feel only sympathy for the dying baby and nothing but anger for the mother.

Judge Denise Moody is heartless. It is a shame what she did to that woman.

Farrah Fawcett’s son was allowed to visit her from jail. I guess stuff like that only happens with celebrities.

It wasn’t drugs that left the baby to die without her mother, it was drug laws.

Shame on you, Judge Moody. Do you understand the power of a mother’s love?

All parents make mistakes. Judge Moody was wrong.

Steve Austria and Jim Jordan don’t serve the members of their districts. If they did, they would fight for every penny of the stimulus money they could get to help all the people and businesses hurting in this area. Our tax dollars will be paying for it any way. I hope both are soundly defeated when they come up for re-election.

Are police going to do anything about the fireworks on the west end of Sunset Avenue? They have already started.

I’d be happy if there were no fireworks display at the fairgrounds. My neighbors and I are tired of people parking on our property and throwing out their trash on our lawns. If you want to watch, go to the fairgrounds.

Everyone should take time on July 4 to go downtown between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to take part in the Tea Party to protest the massive taxation, government growth and failure to secure our liberties.

To the lady who stole the candle and tarts from my store: I know who you are. Don’t expect to get away with it again.

There are people in this town who truly care about Springfield.

Why do people who live in the apartments near Kroger think it is their privilege to take home a shopping cart?

Instead of cutting the library staff hours why doesn't the "County Officials" take a pay cut or cut your hours...I don't know what the library pays but I am sure the "County Officals" make more money!

I didn't know anything about a Tea Party downtown on the 4th. Where downtown?
