Some veterans not aware of benefits

After my last trip to the Dayton VA, I thought about how fortunate we veterans are to have a veterans hospital in Dayton and a VA clinic on South Burnett Road here in Springfield. It always surprises me when I speak with veterans and discover that they do not take advantage of these facilities or were not even aware of them.

Many veterans are eligible to receive medical care and counseling services, if they are requested.

I want to encourage every veteran reading this letter to contact Springfield’s Clark County Veterans Office at (937) 521-2030. Cathy Ater and her knowledgeable staff will let you know what benefits and compensations you are entitled to. I would also encourage you to visit the VA clinic on Burnett Road and begin to get medical care there.

I have always been treated with kindness and respect at all these places.

Please check it out. You will not be sorry, and you may be surprised at what you are eligible for.
