Duncan always ready to pitch in
A vote for Karen Duncan for Springfield City Commissioner is a vote for the betterment and stability of the city of Springfield. She has served on the commission since January 2006 and is currently serving as assistant mayor.
I have known Karen for a number of years and have seen her work on a number of committees. She is always ready to pitch in and do whatever is required to make any event successful. Karen knows the importance of good government and is committed to serving all the people. She and her husband, Ron, are of high moral character, honest and trustworthy. Karen always votes her conscience, whether it be the popular way to go.
Please join me in voting for Karen Duncan for Springfield city commissioner so she can continue working for our city’s future.

Baker thoughtful, principled
Rob Baker is my choice for city commissioner. Not only does his resume measure up — professor of public administration and government at Wittenberg University, president Rocking Horse Community Health Center, former member of Springfield Board of Health — but he is the type of individual I want representing me.
He researches his subject and makes informed decisions. He practices collaboration and forms partnerships to effect change. He values transparency in government and participation of citizens in governing. He is thoughtful, persistent, principled and hard-working.
I first met Rob when I was a Springfield city commissioner in the mid ’90s; I was impressed with his sense of personal civic responsibility then. Over the years, as I observed his many contributions to the public welfare, I have not been disappointed. Rob Baker has my vote on Nov. 3. I hope he has yours.

Vote yes on Northeastern levy
As a former state senator and member of Congress, I have always been a strong advocate for education and what it can do for our community. I live in the Northeastern School District and am urging you, to join me, in voting “yes” on Issue 13 to build two new campuses.
If we approve this important issue now, the Ohio Schools Facilities Commission would fund 41 percent or $45.8 million of the total cost. Failure means that there is a good chance that in the future, Northeastern Local Schools will have to pay 100 percent of that cost.
This may be the Northeastern School District’s last chance to get its fair share of the Ohio Schools Facilities Commission funds.
We must pass this issue for the future of our kids.
