I do have to agree with Pete..We Were Soldiers really was a great movie. I do like the fact that the movie showcased what it was like for the wives too.

We Were Soldiers and Saving Private Ryan are awesome, but one of my all time favorites is The Patriot.. The begginings of the US military mixed with an incredible story line, awesome movie!

We Were Solders and Band of Brothers Are great more recent films, However Patton, The Longest Day, The Seabees, Tora, Tora, Tora, and Midway should also be on the list

We Were Soldiers was considered 85% accurate when reviewed by the actual soldiers being portrayed. Full Metal Jacket was very good.

Paths of Glory, All Quiet On the Western Front. Does the young lady featured in the article have any idea how historically inaccurate Pearl Harbor is? That was an abomination, not a movie.

Hamburger Hill My grandfather was a Marine and faught in Vietnam for 2 terms. He recieved 2 Purple Hearts during his tours. He said, hands-down, that Hamburger Hill was the most realistic movie about Vietnam he has ever seen. God Bless.

Band of brothers hands down. But it does have the advantage being 10 hrs. Since its mirrored somewhat to Private Ryan that has to rank. A personnel fav. Platoon sure gets realistic.. And for the oldies Battleground with Van Johnson and Midway are classics. All I watch if I’m looking at a TV. How far do you wanna go? Salute these vets… My young son is a medic..101 Air Assault Divison.. My viewing habits are slowly changing

Jarhead, it showed how the military changed from an infantry based army to an airborne one. Saving Private Ryan, Tom Hanks and Tom Sizemore were terrific. Platoon, because even the good guys can turn bad. Flight of the Intruder, just cause I like William Defoe’. Glory.

The Great Santini is the greatest, movies aren’t just about killing, but the effect it has on humans, both sides. I do not glory in killing! Go wave a flag somewhere. Were any of you ever in the military?

Saving Private Ryan, Letters From Iwo Jima/Flags of Our Fathers and any movie that doesn’t trivialize the immense suffering of the individual soldier.
