Woman injured in mall parking lot crash

A woman was seriously injured today when she lost control of her vehicle and crashed in the parking lot at the Upper Valley Mall.

The parking lot was closed temporarily while CareFlight landed at approximately 4:30 p.m.

Police said an older female driver lost control of her vehicle and struck concrete barriers and a fire hydrant.

German Twp. Fire Chief Tim Holman said the woman was unresponsive when medics arrived. She was taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital for life-threatening injuries, Holman said.

Police continue to investigate what caused the woman to lose control of the vehicle.
