Traffic pattern at WPAFB gate changes Monday

Changes are coming to the traffic pattern into Wright-Patterson Air Force Base beginning Monday.

Gate 22B (I-675 gate) will become an inbound-only gate from 5:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m Monday through Friday. All lanes will be used for inbound traffic and no outbound traffic will be permitted to exit the gate until after 9:30 a.m., with the exception of emergency vehicles.

The three regular inbound lanes will be directed to turn right (up the hill). The two lanes farthest to the right will utilize the turn lane, while the lane closest to the guard shack will proceed to the stop light, turn right, then merge with the traffic from the turn lane.

WPAFB is encouraging drivers to pay close attention to the new road blocks. Driver who end up in the wrong inbound lane will be forced to follow the flow of traffic and find an alternate route to work.
