Police: Man crashes car, walks almost a mile to call 911

A driver in a rollover accident Monday night walked away from the scene with minimal injuries.

Matthew Densmore, 22, from Jamestown, walked between a half mile and a mile to a neighboring home to call emergency crews, according to reports.

Responders were called to the scene of the single-vehicle accident, in the area of 11702 Xenia-London Road, that broke a utility pole and left the car in a cornfield.

Densmore’s vehicle rolled after it left the roadway and hit the pole. The front end of the car had extensive damage in the accident, said fire fighters.

Care Flight was called to the scene because of the nature of the accident, but at the time of the crash the extent of Densmore’s injuries was unknown.

He was treated at Miami Valley Hospital and released sometime before 4 a.m. this morning, according to hospital officials.
