Construction worker struck by car

A construction flagman was taken to a local hospital after being struck by a car late Saturday afternoon.

Shortly before 4:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to the area of the Minute Lane Car Wash on a report of someone struck by a vehicle.

Upon arrival at 1052 Kauffman Avenue, medics immediately attended to a male flagger, identified as an employee of the Buckley Construction Company located in Pennsylvania. The company was working on overhead wires at the location. Fairborn Police said the worker was properly dressed and marked for road work.

The male victim was treated and transported to an area hospital.

The driver, a 17 year-old female, was unhurt in the crash. She told police she wasn't speeding, her brakes failed. She was cited for Failure To Control by Fairborn Police.

The incident is under investigation by Fairborn Police.
