This weekend will be first in 2014 to hit 70s

This weekend will be the first of the year for temperatures to hit the 70s.

Sunshine has started the day Saturday, which will have highs in the mid 70s. A few scattered afternoon clouds are possible, and, an isolated late day shower can't be ruled out, Vrydaghs said. "Overall, I expect more people to remain dry than to see any rain."

Saturday night will be partly cloudy and pleasant with lows in the upper 50s.

It will be breezy and warmer on Sunday, with highs in the mid to upper 70s. A few isolated showers are possible in the afternoon, mainly north and west, Vrydaghs said.

On Monday, rain will return and it will be windy at times.

"A cold front will bring rain and a few thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon," Vrydaghs said. "Heavy rain and strong winds are possible with any thunderstorms that develop.

"Temperatures will be lower, within the 60s and will fall into the 30s overnight, she said.

A few early showers are possible on Tuesday, but then clouds give way to some sun. It will be breezy and chilly with highs in the mid to upper 40s.

Wednesday will be partly cloudy and cool with highs around 50.
