Lt. governor says she has ‘no idea’ if Kasich will run for president in ‘16

Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor said Thursday she has “no idea” if Gov. John Kasich would run for president for 2016, saying “he’s committed to Ohio. I think that he is committed to continuing the work we’ve started.”

Taylor was in Washington to attend a White House meeting of insurance commissioners, a session that included President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden. Taylor did not have the opportunity to speak at the gathering.

If Kasich is re-elected this fall and were to win the presidency, Taylor would become the governor and carry out the rest of the term.
