Former imprisoned Ohio lawmaker writes a book

Former Ohio congressman Bob Ney who was imprisoned for nearly three years after pleading guilty to corruption charges in 2006, has a book scheduled for release next month.

The Heath Republican’s publication is entitled: “Sideswiped: Lessons Learned Courtesy of the Hit Men of Capitol Hill.”

He represented the state’s old 18th district which sprawled a region east and south of the Columbus area.

Published by Changing Lives Press, the book reportedly will deal with Ney’s fall from a House committee chairman because of his links with disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff. No details yet, but we’re hearing Ney takes a few shots at House Speaker John Boehner, R-West Chester.

There is little sign Republicans are particularly eager to hear from Ney anytime soon. When one GOP consultant was told Ney had written a book, he asked, “Is it a coloring book?’’
