The skies are blue and the voting precincts are trouble-free, local elections officials are reporting Tuesday at noon, Nov. 3.
Now if only the voters would show up.
“It’s kind of light,” said Mark Oster, director of the Clark County Board of Elections.
Robin Burden, director of the Champaign County Board of Elections, was predicting only a 43 percent voter turnout Tuesday.
The only snags Tuesday seemed to be two optical scanners that needed to be replaced in Clark County — one in North Hampton and the other in Springfield Twp., Oster said.
“We always have a couple of scanners we have to switch out,” he said. “We handled it.”
The polls will remain open until 7:30 p.m.
