Candlelight Vespers Thursday
Wittenberg University will host its Medieval Candlelight Vespers Service, better known as Candlemas, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Weaver Chapel.
The worship is primarily musical, with an instrumental group, Wind in the Woods; and a 12-member, all-male choir, Schola Cantorum, assisting in the service.
The ceremony will include a reading from a late medieval writer.

Handgun training scheduled
The Western Ohio Personal Safety/Firearm Training Group will offer a 12-hour course — which meets the training requirement for an Ohio license to carry a concealed handgun — from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 25 and noon to 5 p.m. Feb. 26 at the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, 120 N. Fountain Ave.
