SPRINGFIELD — Elderly United of Springfield & Clark County will host an event to help area residents learn about scams, schemes and other issues that could jeopardize personal financial security.

The financial fair, open to individuals of all ages, will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Mar. 11, at 101 S. Fountain Ave.

Elderly United, working with the Better Business Bureau and the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, has secured experts on a wide range of areas to help attendees “make the most of (their) assets and protect them from scammers,” the BBB said in a release.

An expo will provide information from the Office of the Ohio Consumers’ Counsel, Ohio Treasurer of State, Social Security Administration, Internal Revenue Service, Ohio Department of Insurance and others.

From 1:30 to 2 p.m., there will be a presentation on financial schemes and scams; from 2 to 3 p.m., there will be a panel discussion on financial issues.

Light refreshments will be provided.

Registration can be made by calling (937) 521-3015.
