Police: man punches woman after being hit with beer bottle

SPRINGFIELD — A local man was jailed after a fight in which he claims he was hit with a beer bottle, according to a police report.

William H. Calhoun, 27, of 338 W. Perrin Ave., was arrested on a charge of domestic violence and assault Wednesday, July 1, according to the report.

Calhoun punched a woman he knew in the face in the 100 block of West Auburn Avenue around 3 a.m. Wednesday, according to the report.

Calhoun reportedly told police he punched the woman after she hit him in the head with a beer bottle, according to the report.

He was taken to Clark County Jail.
