Police headlines: Driver arrested in two-car collision

Lindsey C. Stockdale, 45, of Tremont, was arrested on charges of endangering children, driving under the influence, leaving the scene of a crash, driving without a license and several previous warrants.

Springfield police alleged he was driving drunk with two 4-year-old boys in the car Monday night when he struck another car near the 1100 block of North Bechtle Avenue and then fled the scene. The other driver followed him, police said, and blocked Stockdale in near the 1200 block of Caplinger Avenue until officers arrived.

He was placed in the Clark County Jail. Staff report

Woman, 19, faces assault charge

Lauren M. Mefford, 19, of 2645 Morton Drive, was arrested on an assault charge. Police alleged she punched an older woman in the face and ribs Monday afternoon. She was ordered into court. Staff report

Thefts

Computer, tools missing at Tomco

• A computer and power tools valued at $860 were taken in a break-in at Tomco Tool, 203 S. Wittenberg Ave., between 3 p.m. Sunday and 7 a.m. Monday, according to a Springfield police report.

• A ladder and car audio amplifier, valued at $700, were taken between midnight and 8:30 a.m. Monday from a vehicle parked in the 1500 block of Kenton Street, according to a report. Staff report
