OVI checkpoint slated Friday

SPRINGFIELD — The Clark County OVI Task Force has announced an OVI checkpoint for Friday.

Checkpoints are designed to deter impaired driving and remove drunk drivers from the road.

The time and location will be released by 5 p.m. Friday, according to a press release.

It will be manned by staff from the Clark County Combined Health District, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, the Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Enon, South Charleston and Tremont City police departments.

Officials will also be out looking for drunk drivers, speeders and those not wearing their seat belts.
