SPRINGFIELD — Ohio Valley Medical Center has signed a multi-year agreement with insurance provider, UnitedHealthcare.

The agreement, effective Oct. 15, will provide in-network access to health care services at the physician-owned surgical hospital for UnitedHealthcare commercial and Medicare health plan customers.

Ohio Valley Medical Center services include open and minimally invasive procedures for ear, nose and throat, general surgery, gastroenterology, gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, pain management, plastic surgery, podiatry and urology specialties. The facility also houses 24 private overnight rooms.

UnitedHealthcare’s Ohio network includes 20,000 physicians and 190 hospitals, serving more than 1.6 million people statewide.

To Christy- Is this the place to post that comment? How silly....most companies switch their insurance coverage every year or few years. Be glad you have insurance and be happy your company is trying to save you money..in the long run if they buy ins. that cost them more money it will cost you more money..DUH

This is good news for Spfld. I have had numerous family members treated poorly at the old Community Hospital and Mercy. If you have a surgical procedure to schedule and your ins is covered by Ohio Valley Medical Center..go to this new facilty in Spfld. Great care, extremely clean and not overcrowded. They really care about there patients and their families.

Hope SRMC learns how to give their employee insurance for multi yrs every yr they change insurance or coverage as long as it CHEAPER
