MOOREFIELD TWP. — One man is in jail after a foot chase with deputies ended in Taser fire Monday morning, May 18, according to a sheriff’s report.

Stephen M. Rinehart, 37, of 4823 Ashley Drive, was arrested on a charge of resisting arrest, according to the report.

A Springfield police officer spotted Rinehart in a vehicle in the Northridge area around 9:30 a.m. Monday, according to the report.

The officer notified deputies with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office that Rinehart was wanted for a probation violation, according to the report.

Deputies followed Rinehart’s vehicle and carried out a traffic stop at Derr Road just south of Weber Road.

Rinehart fled and deputies gave chase, capturing him soon after. When Rinehart continued to resist, deputies deployed a Taser to take him into custody, according to the report.

Rinehart was taken to Clark County Jail.
