Local man faces multiple charges

SPRINGFIELD — Daniel Williams, 29, of 328 N. Light St., was arrested Sat. Feb. 6, on multiple charges after he allegedly assaulted a woman at a Fountain Avenue bar.

According to the police report, Williams approached a woman outside Station One bar, 325 N. Fountain Ave., about 2:30 a.m. Saturday, and grabbed her around the neck and head, causing injury.

Williams, who also had an active warrant for domestic violence in Greene County, reportedly left the scene driving a gold Pontiac Grand Am, which officers followed to the 800 block of Olive Street.

When officers pulled Williams over, they found an open bottle of alcohol in the car as well as a bag of what appeared to be marijuana, according to the police report.

While he was being processed at the Clark County Jail, he also was found to have a bag containing a substance officials thought to be cocaine, according to authorities.

He faces charges of OVI, no operator’s license, two counts of driving under suspension, assault, possession of marijuana, possession of crack cocaine and illegal conveyance of drugs onto the grounds of a detention facility.
