MOOREFIELD TWP. — A local man was charged early Friday, accused in an alleged assault and a car chase, according to a sheriff’s report.
Jeffrey R. Kibbe, 27, of 1721 Tremont City Road, was arrested on charges of domestic violence, aggravated vehicular assault, leaving the scene of an accident and operating a vehicle while intoxicated, according to the report.
Around 2:20 a.m., a deputy sheriff saw a vehicle travelling at high speed with another car behind it in the 5100 block of Urbana Road, according to the report.
The first car, a Honda Civic, slowed to pull over for the deputy and the second vehicle, a Dodge Intrepid, continued on, according to the report.
The driver of the Honda told the deputy that the Intrepid had been following them, cutting the Honda off and sideswiping the car, nearly causing a crash, according to the report.
At that time, another deputy was dispatched to Kibbe’s address on a report of domestic violence and discovered a Dodge Intrepid that matched the description of the vehicle spotted on Urbana Road.
Kibbe was ordered into court.
