MOOREFIELD TWP. — A man who allegedly eluded authorities in a rental truck after a theft last month was back in custody on similar charges Monday, June 29.

Shane Radcliff, 34, was arrested in May on charges of theft and felony fleeing and eluding.

The arrest came after investigators say Radcliff used a rental truck to take some items from a Bechtle Avenue business on May 16, then fled police in a high-speed chase.

Radcliff was jailed on those charges and posted $15,000 bond on June 11, according to Clark County Sheriff’s Office investigators.

Then, early Monday morning, investigators say Radcliff rammed a red SUV into a business on Mechanicsburg Road, took some items and fled authorities again.

“This individual is a threat to this community,” said Clark County Sheriff Gene Kelly. “He will not stop.”

Radcliff will be charged with breaking and entering and felony vandalism in connection with Monday’s incident, Kelly said.

The SUV was later found crashed into a fence near Catholic Central High School in Springfield, and several thousand dollars worth of merchandise was recovered from the SUV, according to the report.
