SMHA board meeting Tuesday at Lincoln Park

The SMHA Board of Commissioners’ meeting will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, at the Lincoln Park Community Center, 1900 Huron Avenue.

Relationship skills class for women continue at center

A relationship skills class for women, Within My Reach, is being held from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday mornings at Marriage Resource Center, 616 N. Limestone St.

Classes will also be offered Monday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. April 5-26.

RINGS classes set for rest of March at different sites

The Marriage Resource Center, at 616 N. Limestone St., will be hosting “RINGS,” a couple’s relationship education class, today, March 13, from 
9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or 6 to 8 p.m.

A “RINGS” class will also be held at Greater Grace Temple, 380 W. Leffel Lane, from 9 a.m. to 
5 p.m. Saturday, March 20.

A Premarital/First Dance “RINGS” class for engaged couples will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 27, at the Marriage Resource Center.

All classes are $20 per couple. Couples who complete the eight-hour class will receive a $25 gas card.

‘Coal Country’ screening set for Little Art Theatre

The Little Art Theatre in Yellow Springs is hosting a free screening of the documentary “Coal Country” at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 20.

The film is from acclaimed documentary filmmakers Mari-Lynn Evans and Phyllis Geller, who previously created the PBS series “The Appalachians.”

Admission is free. However, donations are welcome.

Spaghetti dinner to be held in Urbana March 17

Area residents are invited to a spaghetti dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, at the Sara Landess Room in the Student Center at Urbana University.

The event is being organized by the Urbana University’s Relay For Life. The dinner is $5 and includes spaghetti, salad, bread, a beverage and a dessert. Proceeds will go to the Urbana University Relay For Life event on April 16 and 17 on the campus.

To-go orders will be available after 4:30 p.m., and tickets may be purchased at the Urbana University Student Center and Library, or by calling (937) 484-1459 or 484-1409.

Checks should me made payable to the American Cancer Society.

Residents will be able to double the value of their donation by purchasing a meal for an area shut-in by March 15.

WASP ceremony televised tonight on C-SPAN

The WASP Congressional Gold Medal Ceremony held Wednesday, March 10, in Emancipation Hall at the U.S. Capitol, will be aired on C-SPAN at 8:30 p.m., Eastern time today, March 13.

Among those who received recognition at the ceremony are the late Caro Bayley Bosca and 91-year-old Frances Brookings, both of Springfield.
