Golf outing benefits Red Cross
The Clark County Chapter of the American Red Cross will hold its second annual Bar Stool Open on Feb. 25.
The event involves teams that compete in putter golf at local bars. Teams are comprised of four golfers and one designated driver. The teams will rotate among participating bars and restaurants where they will play one hole.
The cost is $100 for a team of four. Transportation is available for an additional $10 each person.
All proceeds go to the American Red Cross.
Registration deadline for the event is Feb. 15. Registration forms can be picked up at Chaps Saloon, 2352 S. Yellow Springs St., or The American Red Cross, 1830 N. Limestone St. The event it sponsored by Bobby Fisher Distributing. For more information, call (937) 521-2583. STAFF REPORT

Farm Bureau Rally set for Wednesday
The Clark County Farm Bureau will kick off its 2012 membership campaign at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at OSU Clark County Extension, 4400 Gateway Blvd.
“Anyone who’s interested in helping grow the county farm bureau is invited,” said Robyn Callicoat, Clark County membership coordinator. “During the event we’ll discuss campaign tactics and strategies. It’s a great start to membership.”

Psychologist to give free lecture
Daniel Schacter, psychologist, will present “The Seven Sins of Memory,” at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 16 at Wittenberg University in Pam Evans Smith Arena in the Health, Physical Education and Recreation Center, 250 Bill Edwards Drive.
The event is part of the Wittenberg Series-Sponsored IBM Endowed Lecture in the Sciences.
Prior to the event, Schacter will meet with Wittenberg community members for a student-faculty lecture titled “Constructive Memory and Imagining the Future: A Cognitive Neuroscience Perspective” at 3:50 p.m. in the Bayley Auditorium in the Barbara Deer Kuss Science Center, 315 Bill Edwards Drive.
