University to offer exhibit on musicals
In November, Urbana University will offer visitors a chance to view a national exhibit focused on the history of the musical. “A Fine Romance: Jewish Songwriters, American Songs, 1910 to 1965,” will be on display beginning Nov. 9 in the Swedenborg Memorial Library. The exhibit, which is free and open to the public, will be closed from Nov 23-27 for Thanksgiving. It will be on display from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Fridays, noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays and 7 to 10 p.m. Sundays.
Robert Marks, director of choral activities for Urbana University, will be the featured performer at the grand opening, scheduled for 4 p.m. Nov. 6 in the Sara Landess Room at Urbana University.
