Are you getting caught up in the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition excitement and looking for a way to become involved in the local effort?
Enough volunteers have signed up to help, but organizers are still seeking donations. A food drive and blood drive also are being held.
“It’s not just about the family but the community as a whole,” said Megan Grote, a representative of local public relations firm Edward Howard for the project.
A food drive being held in conjunction with the project will benefit The Foodbank, which helps those in need throughout Greene, Montgomery and Preble counties.
People who attend the House Reveal — which is open to the public and tentatively scheduled for 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 6 — are asked to bring two cans of food.
Drop-off locations for the non-perishable food items include all Prudential One, REALTORS offices and Monro Muffler Service Centers throughout the Miami Valley. For more information, go online to www.extremecoventryhome.com.
Community Blood Center will host a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of Lofino’s near U.S. 35 and Fairfield Road in Beavercreek.
