An H1N1 flu clinic is scheduled in Champaign County from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30, at the Champaign County Community Center.

About 2,800 doses of the vaccine will be available, primarily in shot form, according to information from the Champaign Health District. All people who are eligible will be able to receive the shot form this week.

To receive the vaccine, residents must be in a priority group that includes pregnant women, health care and emergency medical services workers, residents from six months to 24 years old, a household caregiver of children younger than six months old, or a resident from 25 to 64 years old with chronic medical conditions.

There is no charge for the vaccine.

Children younger than 10 years old should wait at least 28 days before receiving a second vaccination, according to information from the health district. A second dose is needed to protect those children from H1N1. Children who received their first vaccination on or before Nov. 2 will be eligible for their second dose.

The Health District is scheduling an additional clinic from 2 to 6 p.m. Dec. 6 at the Champaign Community Center. Dates and times are subject to change depending on the vaccine supply.
