URBANA — The Champaign Health District will hold an H1N1 flu clinic from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, at the Champaign County Community Center auditorium, 1512 S. U.S. Highway 68.
There is no charge for the vaccination, but recipients must be in one of the five priority groups to receive the vaccine.
Groups include:
•Pregnant women
•Healthcare and EMS personnel
•Children and young adults ages 6 months to 24 years old
•Household caregivers of children under 6 months old
•Adults ages 25 to 64 years old with chronic medical conditions
There will be approximately 2,200 doses available, most in shot form; a few nasal mists doses will be available.
Individuals under 10 years old who have received an initial vaccination need to have a second dose at least 28 days after the first dose to achieve complete protection. Children who received their initial vaccination on or before Oct. 25 are eligible for the second dose.
Additional clinics are scheduled to be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Nov. 30 and Dec. 6 at the Community Center. Clinic dates and times are subject to change depending on vaccine supply. Other clinic dates for the remainder of December will be announced as vaccine distribution continues throughout the month.
