Greenon treasurer leaves for Yellow Springs job

ENON — Greenon Local Schools is on the hunt for a new treasurer.

Treasurer Dawn Weller plans to leave the district next month for new employment, and board members were expected to approve her resignation at a meeting Thursday, March 11, according to the agenda.

Her last day would be April 2.

The Yellow Springs Exempted Village Board of Education was expected to approve hiring Weller as their new treasurer the same day, according to an agenda for its meeting.

Weller is expected to be hired by Yellow Springs on a three year contract at a salary of $99,700, according to the Yellow Springs board agenda for Thursday night’s meeting.

Weller replaces Joy Kitzmiller, who left the district last year to take the treasurer’s position with Cedar Cliff Local Schools.

Greenon Local Schools is a district of about 1,900 students with an annual budget of $15 million, according to the Ohio Department of Education.

Yellow Springs is a district of about 700 students with an annual operating budget of $8.2 million, according to the ODE.
