TREMONT CITY — A 6-year-old girl was injured after falling off a trampoline at a home in the first block of North Street on Friday, June 4.
The girl’s grandmother, Denise Skaggs, said the child had been playing on the trampoline when she fell off around 11 a.m. The girl walked into the home after the fall then vomited and lost balance.
She was flown to Children’s Medical Center of Dayton and was treated and released for a mild concussion.
Skaggs said she’d had the trampoline for four years and while they normally had the net secured, didn’t have it on the device Friday.
“At first I didn’t think (trampolines) were too serious, but after today we won’t have another one,” Skaggs said.
The family took the trampoline down after the accident, she said.
Skaggs said she was looking out the back door at the trampoline when the accident happened.
She said the child’s foot caught on the padding while she was jumping, and that might have caused the fall.
Skaggs added that anyone looking to buy a trampoline might want to reconsider.
“They should save their money,” she said.
