  • 6 p.m.: Old-fashioned Country Fireworks at the Clark County Fairgrounds, 4401 S. Charleston Pike, Springfield. Gates open at 6 p.m., fireworks at 10 p.m. or when dark enough. More details

Friday, July 3

  • 4 to 10 p.m.: Enon Independence Day Celebration at Enon VFW Post 8437, 5075 Enon-Xenia Road, Enon.
  • 4 to 11 p.m. July 3 and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. July 4: July Fourth Veterans Celebration at Clark County Fairgrounds, 4401 S. Charleston Pike, Springfield. Cost is $8. Music, rides, pro wrestling and more. Opening ceremonies at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Saturday, July 4

  • 11 a.m.: Tea Party with live entertainment & speakers at Springfield City Hall, 76 E. High St., Springfield.
  • 3:30 to 7 p.m.: Rotary Club Chicken BBQ & Fireworks. Fireworks start around 10 p.m. at the Grimes Municipal Airport, Urbana.
goes to show people don't read the whole article. It says fireworks start at 10 or when dark enough. Only says gates open at 6. Then again, some people are only happy when complaining.

Sorry, I'm not about to pay 8 bucks to get into an event at the fairgrounds when there are so many free events around the area. It hasn't been advertised well, anyway, so I doubt there'll be much of a crowd.

The 6 start time is when they let you in to the grounds for the music etc..the fireworks start at dark..

wow fireworks at 6p.m. its not dark enough to see anything, usually it is later well i guess they wanted to change it
