DAYTON — Michael Greitzer will step aside as Dayton market president in Miller-Valentine Group as of Jan. 1, company officials said.

Greitzer, a Springfield resident, will retain his ownership stake in the construction and development firm and remain a partner in it, but no longer will involve himself in day-to-day operations, said Ed Blake, senior partner and chief executive of Miller-Valentine Commercial Group.

“With our ownership structure, we’ve had people who’ve done that before,” he said.

Blake referred questions about Greitzer’s future plans to Greitzer, who could not be reached for comment Wednesday night, Dec. 2.

Greitzer also is co-chairman of the Downtown Dayton Partnership with Dayton Mayor Rhine McLin. Recently, he, along with local philanthropist Mike Ervin, has been involved in the Greater Downtown Dayton Plan, an effort to revamp the city.

A Cleveland native, Greitzer previously worked for Olympia Management Ltd. in Indianapolis as president and chief property officer.

He also worked for Beverly Enterprises, also of Indianapolis, as regional vice president of operations and marketing.

In addition to the Dayton area, Miller-Valentine has offices in Cincinnati and South Carolina.
