SPRINGFIELD — With their hair in curls with bows and bonnets sisters Kayla and Airiona looked as pretty as a picture on a spring day.
That’s exactly what their grandmother, Margery Miller, hoped to capture when she took them to see the Easter Bunny at the Upper Valley Mall on Sunday, March 21.
“I try to bring them out here every Easter, but we missed it last year,” said Miller, who had dressed the girls in blue and yellow floral dresses and white patent leather shoes. “We’ll keep the photo for ourselves.”
Two-year-old Airiona was excited at first to see the bunny with the large glasses and blue velvet jacket and instantly ran his way. She froze in her tracks however, when he motioned for her to come over and see him. Coaxed by her grandparents she finally did sit down and instantly hammed a smile when the photographer snapped the photo.
While the girls’ grandparents had the pleasure of taking them to the mall, Alex, Aric and Kiersten Marsh were having their photo taken so they could send it to their grandmother in Indiana. Their cousin Clarisse joined them for the photo shoot.
With one week until Easter, most of the kids said they were looking forward to the candy they would receive.
Alex, however, set his sights further.
“I’m just looking forward to summer break,” he said.
